About the Course

Graduates will be able to complete tasks at entry level, and will have the skills and knowledge to meet workplace safety requirements.

This is an entry level qualification, designed for people already working in the industry or people wishing to enter the industry in an entry level role.

The qualification contains four sections:

• The compulsory contains core manufacturing skills and basic workplace health and safety, which are common to all manufacturing industries.
• Elective A allows candidates to select the manufacturing process skills relevant to their particular industry along with appropriate standards from the Competitive Manufacturing domain. The Material Management domain is also included to allow skills in distribution in a manufacturing environment to be selected.
• Elective B section offers a range of specific skills required by individual enterprises.
• Optional standards have been included for use where additional support in literacy, numeracy and basic employment skills are required.
